Would you like to quote a post which relays this point? Your urge to put words into other people's mouths and to attack is extremely off-putting. I honestly find it surprising that a supposedly esteemed member of this forum would behave that way.

It's not my fault people link anything to religion without considering social structures and tradition. IMHO people can have their marriages (should be civil unions), I just want no part in it.

Of course it does. Many people, not just people in open marriages (which exist and are fine, BTW) don't want, out of principle, that the state have any say on what happens between them or in their bedroom. This is just one reason not to want marriage, there are many, many others.

None of those reasons mean the couple is somehow "less committed", you'll just have to deal with this.

You're supposed to leave the place in worse shape than it previously was, did you accomplish this?

I never object to anyone not wanting X or Y or Z. What I do always find dismaying is the constant inabilty to see the other side, and to even attempt to understand it.

I exempt you from that, mostly.

I just want to mention that I will be dining this evening with my brother and his wife. It should be noted that this wife used to be the best friend of my brother's ex-wife, and was presented to him when said ex wanted to become polyamorous. Average weight for the three of them is north of 250 lbs.

I've always said that "pigs in a blanket" are my favorite hors d'oeuvre.

Wait - you've mentioned them in prior posts, have you not?

I'm just glad I'm not the one on the receiving end for once.
