What a horrible movie. I was actually looking forward to this, and all I got to see was like a remake of "Enemy of the State". It's just Will Smith running around in traffic, and telling his kid he loves him all the time. He didn't deliver the kind of performance that made you care, and I feel it didn't do justice to the real story of this incredible man.

I saw an interview this week with the guy whose story this was based on. didn't make me like him too much, although I have to have huge admiration for what he did.

I agree, this movie was terrible. I thought I'd like it much more since I'm a sucker for underdog stories, but it was hella depressing (and I LIKE depressing movies) in an annoying way. The performances were melodramatic and overdone, by the end I could care less if he got the job or not. *snore*

Why not? I felt the same way, but not exactly sure what is was about him.

hard to put a finger on it - maybe I felt he was too "blingy"? - wearing two high end watches at the same time, for instance?

here's the thing - he did a fantastic thing, over coming a lot of odds, and proving himself in an arena where he had a lot going against him. he showed great charactor in doing so, and I don't begrudge him anything in terms of enjoying his success. that said, it struck me that he is about as classy in the way he spends his money as most people I know who started out poor and became sucessful.

for what ever reason, i didn't feel that much affection for him, from the newspaper article.
