purpose of Folio - should it go in briefcase? as an ipad case?

hi..
this may be a silly question for many, but i was thinking to buy my brother a folio, something like
this..

so my question is, should the folio match a briefcase (does it go inside the briefcase)?...or its intention to be carried alone or placed inside a different type of bag?

the other thing i wondered...anyone think the SAB type could also double up as an ipad case?..

Have several. I do both, standalone and inside a briefcase. Depends on the occasion and purpose. If it's just a short meeting where I don't need to travel much nor do I need to bring too much material, it's just the folio. On the plane, it goes inside my briefcase.
