Ever since i binged Jessica Jones ive wanted a sick purple blazer like one of the characters wears but i cant seem to find anywhere that sells them and i was hoping that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. Here'ssome pictures from the show and similar items. I did find one from Macys but they dont seem to have it any more and, living in the UK, the shipping would have been ridiculous sadly. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated :)

I rather thought purple suits and blazers were reserved for men who had a string of girls working the streets for them, but maybe that's just because I'm an old man!

Yeah, but they look damn good while they're doing it :)

Dreadful looking things: What is the fascination of copying from television or film? Suggests a lack of original thought and insecurity to me.

I picked up a RLPL purple velvet jacket on a whim that got a lot of use at Holiday parties this past season. Let's face it, it isn't just the color of a jacket, it's the cut, fit, fabric, details and the persons personal style that determines if it is a success or failure.

I wholeheartedly agree, the colour comes second to cut and personal style and im glad someone seems to like purple as a colour for blazers. I think its quite different and unusual but as a suit it would definitely make you look like you should have a fur coat on top and a few girls working on the street for you haha

I would wear a pink jacket (in an appropriate Spring/Summer setting, but I'd draw the line at a pink suit. But this thread is about jackets, not suits.

Everyone takes their inspiration from somewhere. If anything, taking wardrobe ideas from your badly dressed peers screams a higher sense of insecurity than a show.

Liverano has cut a beautiful purple tweed before, but the percentage of population that can pull it off is miniscule.

This board generally laments it, but I find it's useful to have an item or two that is considered to be loud. There are all sorts of events when that is appropriate, and some where it is expected. Someone did a thread on a visit to Huntsman and posted a picture a purple tweed (and the Huntsman tweeds all tend towards the outgoing). Those are all bespoke, but I wouldn't be surprised to find something adventurous in the ready to wear as well. Good luck.

Have you thought about dyeing? It is risky and I do not know much about the process myself, but it is an option for people who cannot afford bespoke or MTM.
