that is insane ... i wonder if the denim is wearable. 28 oz is just stupid.

I have a pair of 29 oz. jeans from Japan, and they are surprisingly wearable. The thing about heavyweight denim is that the heavier it gets, the smoother and softer it seems to become, even from the get-go. That is a good thing, since slubbiness on something that heavy would not be fun to break in.

I will admit that I would not wear anything over 21 oz. in the middle of summer, but the really heavyweight stuff is awesome in the winter.

They've dropped at BiG. Anyone picking them up? They look beautiful, but $438 is too much for my wallet... I don't know why I thought that I'd be able to afford them.[IMG]

I think Gordon originally said that they would be around the $375 price range, which would have been more in-line with other heavyweight denim from similarly priced brands.

there is nothing out there like these. samurai has a 24 oz that is around this price and there are many other 21 oz jeans out there but they arent nearly as unique as these. not even close. the 24 oz 007 on the pbj site is $410 (retail price w/ no shipping) so i would think the other 24 oz. models will be in the $425-$450 price range.

The Samurai 24 oz. is $385. SDA's 23 oz. models (they have a few) are about $375. That was what I was comparing the price to. Iron Heart's 23 oz. model is more expensive, but all Iron Hearts are more expensive anyway, so I didn't take them into consideration as heavily. But you are right, I don't think I've seen a weft-dyed 24 oz. denim yet other than these.

The 22oz dry bones at SE, while not weft dyed, are pretty unique and $375

    Wear Update on PBJxx007s -

After a lack of replies in B&S, decided to bust these out of the closet again. The overcast light today lightened up the color considerably in the photos, but gives a better look at what actually is happening fading-wise.

[IMG] nice visual. yea, 007 denim goes through like an "ugly duckling" stage. it's 1 of the few denim i've experienced that's got full spectrum of changes... a totally different jeans from where it started [... waaay down the line].

Interesting... I'd heard of the "ugly duckling stage" - probably from you, in fact - but I've not yet found the denim to be visually unappealing at any stage in which I've owned it...

Could you explain it a bit more?

i all honesty the lack of response in your ad is because your asking about $100 to much for those. the second you put any wear on a jean its like driving a brand new 911 off the lot. they depreciate like a mf. i would keep them. i was just thinking about how painful it would be to lose around $9-11K the second that odo reads 101 miles. i will let you know in the next year or so [IMG]
