... i would suggest hot water. i washed mine twice in a hot/cold gentle cycle

Did you do all of this before your 1st wear ?

I need to get more shrinkage in my 013's in the leg area , initially I only did a 45 warm soak. Im doing a 2hr hot soak now and debating on using washing machine/Dryer after

Well, especially if buying raws, then it's almost imperative to soak beforehand. Even with o/w's it's advisable to do so a well just to make sure the fit is right.

Here are some pics with better lighting. The true blue of the indigo really comes out in the daylight. IMO great fit, but I'm partial, I guess.

yes. i wash all of my new raw denim twice in a hot/cold gentle cycle to get all of the shrinkage out of the way. i only use the dryer if i really need to shrink them or want to soften up the denim. i usually do not recommend the dryer unless you absolutely have to. tino: really nice fit ... one of the better 007 fits ive seen. those should be perfect in a day or two or wear.

Thank you! I noticed they hadn't restocked for at least a few months... at least since I started saving up to drop for mine. How often does BiG manage to get new sizes in?

Terrible lighting here, but wanted to post up some initial pics of my PBJ XX-011s. Love the gray weft on these. Just got them 3 days ago, put em in a cold soak and they have about 8 hours of wear so far. [IMG] [IMG] Album here: http://lousy.imgur.com/denim#230lK

Thanks a lot, jarude. I appreciate it. Hey lousy, how did you size your 11s? That was the other one I was seriously debating on just because of the left-hand weave. They're not slubby either, correct?

The left-hand weave is pretty sweet, just because when you look at it, it is a little different. They're not slubby at all. I sized 1 down (31 -> 30), but BiG e-mailed me to let me know that the 30s were running about .5" bigger than usual too. I could have done ok without that extra .5", but its still a good fit imo.

Guys, I just got a pair of 005's raw and I've tried wearing them around the house but they are still really stiff. I'm really happy with waist and leg fits but should I be jumping in the bath tub with them on to speed up the softening process? I don't want them to shrink cos fit is perfect right now so maybe a cold soak and dry? Thanks...
they're stiff because they are starched, i don't know what that guy was talking about with the slubbiness of the denim making them stiff. you can either keep agitating the starch out or put them in the dryer to soften them up prematurely.

I currently have a new pair of PBJ XX-007's in size 34 raw. Been wearing them for about a month. Off the shelf and unwashed, they fit pretty good. The only thing is, the rise is a bit tight in my crotch. But I can deal with it. I have yet to wash/soak them as I don't want them to shrink at all. I know they are unsanforized, but if they shrink any, they'll be too tight. I didn't get a size up because if I did that and then shrunk them, the waist would be too large (even with shrinking).

    I'm 6'2", 190 pounds and I generally wear a 34 or 35 tagged size.

I'm thinking about getting another pair of PBJ since I like them. But, I'm looking at the 009's since they're supposed be just like the 007's but a slightly looser fit, especially in the rise.

My question is, this time around should I go with a 36 raw and actually hot soak them like you're supposed to? Get another pair of 34's and not soak them like I've done with the 007's. Or go with a 36 one wash?

It's all very confusing to me.
