I'm looking for a punched/perforated cap-toe oxford. My main target now is the C&J Westbourne. I generally like rounded toes but the 348 works perfectly with the Westbourne's style.

I should also note that I'm specifically looking for oxfords with the broguing and seams forming a rectangle around the laces -- can anyone enlighten me on what it's called?

So what else would you recommend besides the Westbourne? I'm looking in this price range although I don't mind going up a little if the right pair of lightly used Vass show up in B&S.

I am also considering Meermin handgrade although I don't love the medallion and last.

What else is out there?

It's called an Adelaide.

Found this useful thread on Ask Andy: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/...comparison-C-amp-J-Westbourne-v-EG-Canterbury

It's a big adelaide rundown. Looks like the consensus is hang on for Vass instead of getting C&J benchgrade. The Vass Italian Oxford with captoe and no medallion looks absolutely amazing.

One guy makes the point that the 348 creases awkwardly and it's generally uncomfortable. That has been my experience with the last as well, although I was probably wearing a half-size too big.

The AS Exclusive mentioned above is interesting, although I'm not a fan of the slightly elaborate styling at the back of the quarter.

No problems with 348 creasing locations on my foot. The trick is to size down 1/2 size from your norm. As the 348 last is large.

Although a C&J benchgrade shoe obviously can't compare to Vass in terms of quality.

I've seen them on Spoo's fit pics and they look totally uncreased. Should try the 348 again and size half down like you say. But then again, I have wide feet, so it may not work.
