Pumas

How do people feel about these? I don't have a single pair of sneakers I can wear in public - 1 battered exercise pair, and a pair of running shoes, but otherwise just 3 ankle boots some Timbs and dress shoes.

As a caveat, I loathe the Converse/Jack Purcell/Chuck Taylor/Vans look - I think it looks incredibly stupid. So that alienates 95% of the forum, but oh well

I was torn between pumas - either something low-pro, like this:

or the Ferrari pumas:

on the other hand, maybe regular old Adidas Sambas:

I'm a huge fan of Sambas. Have a couple pairs and you can't go wrong with them, they're classics

I rather like my speed cats, they're kind of chill and not too outstanding but still rather sleek, and don't look goofily large like large size chucks IMO. I have a pair in blue suede and in black leather and wear both on quite a few occasions.

I don't really like those Pumas. They make your feet look like arrows IMO. I do however like the Sambas!

I'm the same. I wondered if I was the only one who dislike likes that look. I like the Speed Cats, but when I've tried them on they look somewhat odd with slim jeans. Still my favorite of those are the Speed Cats.

I like the speed Cats and the Future Cats
Only downside is they are not a walking around shoe, ie very little sole and you can feel every crack/piece of gravel in the road. After walking around Seattle for 8 hours my feet were hurtin.

i just walked out of this huge shoe store in LA -- Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse -- with a pair of white sambas with blue stripes instead of the black stripes. love 'em! and the price was $45, 10 bucks better'n zappos. sweet!

Puma makes pretty shoes, please choose the right ones ^^
