On the other hand, I ended up picking up a pair of these for $35 (in brown instead of black). Really comfy and they look great too

Much betterrrrrr
I kind've like the suede line too. Feels fancy when it's actually cheap.

im diggin those tigers, I need something to replace my White and blue Romas and the Onitsuka Tigers fit the bill. Where is a good place to buy them? Local shops have **** selection because no one likes the shoes (therefore giving me exclusive rights, Awesome...)
Also I have a pair of Black/Blue Puma FrankenClydes w/ Wide Blue laces, they are bad, looks like a suede/Clyde mix. Bought them a few years ago but can not find the model anymore (They were a new style when I bought them too)

NO NO NO SPEEDCATS!!!

If you must do Puma, then the sprint is a better option.

Go with the Sambas instead

those are hideous. i never could quite grasp what the appeal was. if you must, go with the classic sambas. other than that, the only pumas worth mentioning imo are the 96 Hours by Neil Barrett pumas. does no one wear onitsukas u81's? i've got a pair from a few years back in a discontinued color-way and it's one of my favorite shoes with slim fit jeans. I've always perferred the u81's over the m88's.

Just curious, why all the hate for Pumas? Are they low quality? Overpriced?

I don't hate them. I have a pair of speedcats that I no longer wear; the total lack of cushioning makes them uncomfortable to walk in, and I do a lot of walking.

I do hate the look of the Ferrari ones but that's just a matter of personal preference.

I like Anjans, Romas and Ligas best.

People just don't like the styling.

They are built well, and mid-priced, but the styling isn't for everyone. I happen to wear speedcats almost exclusively on my days off, because they are very comfortable shoes, and I like the way they look. I HATE shoes with bangles and multicolored stripes, plastic crap, and reflective material all over them. two colors max, preferrably suede. The speedcats are sleek, unobtrusive, and comfortable. So if you like them, buy them. If not, dont.

And I really don't give a crap what anyone else thinks about it, I will kick someone's ass in my puma speedcats. Take a number.

pumas (and speedcats in particular) have become ubiquitous where i live. if they weren't so common, i might buy a pair, though i still prefer the look of most adidas and the onitsukas.

I dont really get the hate for Pumas either.

I do agree that the SpeedCats are lacking in the padding department but like I said earlier they were designed after the real SpeedCat Driving shoe. When I drive I prefer to have my feet as close to the pedals for maximum feel. I often drive barefoot in the summer but usually have my speedcats on when I am on the track.

I like most of the classic style Pumas but do not like the Mosotros and other "modern" style ones. As for Anjans I like to use mine for a Gym/cardio shoe, they offer good traction and cushion.
Did anyone ever see a pair of Liga Woolies? Those were nuts, I wish I bought a pair. They were Liga style cut but made of gray slipper style Wool.

My Collection of Pumas (From Top Left to bottom Right): Brown and Clay Red SpeedCat, White and Bright Blue Roma, Bright Blue and White Anjan, Black and Blue FrankenClyde

don't hate Pumas, just not a fan of Speedcats. I've got three pairs of Anjans and some Clydes.
