I can't comment as I don't have much of a clue, but I have a somewhat related question:
Is it acceptable in the colder months to wear a turtleneck with a suit for a more casual look? Assuming the pullover has a good fit, matches in colour and is of decent quality cashmere, etc.?

Only if you have big hair.

Although I`m tucked in my shell, here is another example of a turtle with sport coat. I like the look with sports jackets and sports suits, but I don`t do it with business type suits. Attachment 2366

Is this the invisible dragon?

Appears to be the Attolini sportcoat, in one of my favorite shades, turtleneck, jeans. Well done.

I suppose I am surprised it is even a question. That is one of the all time great looks.

I wear jackets with cotton and silk tees in the summer and wool and cotton turtlenecks in the summer. Although I don't normally do it with a business suit, it is more because I need to get my sports coats out of the closet when I am casual (and this is definitely a casual look but I would and do often do it for a cocktail party). I certainly could imagine it for a casual touch to a suit if done properly.

Perry

BTW, it can be very effective with a DB suit.

I suppose I could pull it off since I've grown my hair out now, but somehow it doesn't seem like the look for me. I'd much rather wear a long sleeved polo with undershirt.

Well, the "big hair" requirement certainly rules me out

Though I don't think any of my suits could be classed as business suits, so I might give it a try and see what it looks/feels like. I don't have a sport jacket yet.

One thing that concerns me is that a more casual suit & turtleneck could present two rather large expanses of solid colour. Maybe boring?

Perhaps I could break it up by adding a thick gold chain with large medallion over the turleneck ...
