1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I am not sure if this is appropriate, but I understand this forum enjoys a good "feeding frenzy." I am a friend of Mr. Andrew Portnoy and once enjoyed polishing my shoes during Easter. The sentiment has passed and, in addition to various career and lifestyle changes, I have decided to instead spend Good Friday trying to list my shoes on Ebay.

For the benefit of potential buyers and morbid spectators alike, these are mostly John Lobb Prestige and Edward Green (including Purple Label) shoes, including models such as the Jermyn II and the Dover.

    I take a US size 9.

Below is the photo I took of the first shoes I removed from my closet this morning, and I hope to add links to eBay auctions:

(back to front, left to right)
(US9D) Crockett and Jones for Polo Ralph Lauren, Tellman, burnished tan, 337 last
(UK8E) Edward Green, Dover, black buffalo calf, 505 last
(UK8.5D) Edward Green, Newmarket Chelsea boots, burnt pine, 202 last
(US8.5D) Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Stern, burnt pine and white suede, 89 last
(UK8.5D) Edward Green, Chelsea, black calf, 202 last
(UK 8F) Edward Green, Malvern wingtips, chestnut calf, 202 last
(UK 8E) John Lobb, Newland monkstrap, black calf, 8000 last
(US 9D, INCLUDES TREES) Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Mackay (Asquith), dark oak calf, 888 last
(US 9D, INCLUDES TREES) Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Peering (Carnegie), black calf, 89 last
(US 9D, INCLUDES TREES) Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Carter "Dover" style derby (Ecton), burnt pine and white suede, 89 last
(US 9D, INCLUDES TREES) Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Mackay (Asquith), black calf, 888 last
(UK/Italian 8.5) Sutor Mantellassi for Borrelli, chukka boots, tan suede
(UK 8E) John Lobb, Vale monkstrap, chestnut museum calf, 8000 last
(UK 8E, NOT FOR SALE) John Lobb, Fould monkstrap, black crocodile, 8695 last
(UK 8E) John Lobb, Jermyn II monkstrap, dark brown calf, 7000 last
(UK 8E, NOT FOR SALE) John Lobb, Chapel monkstrap, dark brown calf, 8000 last
(UK 8E, NOT FOR SALE) John Lobb, Marston derbies, dark brown calf, 7000 last
(UK 8.5D) Edward Green, Berkeley, antique burgundy calf, 888 last

I hope the Shoe Fairy approves.

Any friend of Andrew Portnoy is a friend of SF[IMG]

Too bad your shoes aren't size 8 & 1/2US or Andrew might have bought them all.

If you are a friend of his you would know that he really needs some nice shoes[IMG]

On a serious note, please stick around SF. After looking at your shoes for sale I have a feeling that you will be an interested and valued member.

I hope you do well on your Ebay sales. Your selections and start prices are wonderful. Surely there are some size 9s here that will see something they like.

How much are you looking to get for on the EG/RLPL Mackay (Asquith), dark oak calf, 888 last?

And are all your shoes topy'd and toe tapped?

Hello! What a nice collection! Will you be posting all of these beauties to eBay or would you consider offering any for sale directly here on the Forum?

Thank you very much for the torrent of private messages that poured into my new Inbox while I was having supper with the family. I have given up on answering each and every one, and I hope you understand.

To the kind members I was unable to answer, please understand that I hope to avoid protracted negotiations via private messaging, as this would take weeks. I literally have to list the remaining shoes right now as I wish to have a weekend, and if the response is good, I hope to dig further into my closet when I return from my long scheduled holiday.

I will just check my Inbox as I list the rest of my shoes. If I receive a message with a serious and firm offer, and if it is higher than what the other people who expressed interest send in, then I will set that pair aside. If I can receive payment and delivery instructions by Easter Monday, I will ship first thing in the morning on Tuesday and be done with it.

I hope you all understand my situation and thank you very much to you all once again. Some of you introduced yourselves as students nearing graduation or young folk beginning their careers and of course I hope some of my treasured shoes find their way into your caring homes.

What a nice collection of shoes! In order to expedite the process, you may want to consider posting "prices" for the shoes. That way you'll be sure to obtain what you consider to be reasonable offers and make it easier for others to gauge whether they're able to afford them.

I am deeply embarrassed but I confess that I have closed all my open Ebay auctions. I have not used eBay extensively, and it appears that when I made a listing as a seller, there was an automated unholy cock up in the way the bloody website handled my finances. I simply do not want to deal with eBay's nonsense while I attend to several bits and bobs nagging at me before I go on holiday.

As I do not wish to waste your time, I will gladly sell my shoes here to someone who submits a respectable offer that is higher than other respectable offers. I am willing to post shoes first thing Tuesday morning.

I have not yet determined what I might consider an attractive price and will post tentative rates if I do. If not, then I will have to continue this process when I return from holiday. Fortunately, I have not yet reached the point of having to pay for offsite storage for my wardrobe.

Let me just request that no one send what you call lowballs, nor send inquiries about whether an Edward Green size 9D fits into a 10.5E foot.

All the shoes featured have little wear (and you might imagine they are not worn often), as you have already seen from my aborted auction pages. This is excepting the Malverns, which is from a much older set of purchases and was mixed in with some of last year's purchases.

Also, I have decided not to sell the brown Chapels, the brown Marstons, and the crocodile monkstraps at present.

I am very sorry because I promised a feeding frenzy, and I hope it does not end in the equivalent of dropping fish food for a goldfish. If any buyers are willing, I will gladly post a leaderboard for lucky purchasers.

    Cheers and a pleasant Easter.
