Citizen Bullhead Chronograph Watch

If you're not ready to drop a couple grand on your first Omega, maybe it's time you started looking at vintage watches. A great choice is this Citizen Japan Bullhead Chronograph Watch ($160). Made sometime in the 1970's, this unique watch (crown and pushers on top) features automatic 23 jewels 8110 movement, 3 subdials (day/date, 30 minute and 12 hour), and a new stainless steel bracelet. We've had ours (pictured above) for a couple weeks now, and we couldn't be happier. Hurry if you want one "” the eBay seller we bought ours from only has six left, and he has completely disassembled and reconditioned each one. Ours arrived looking brand new. Also, for those with smaller wrists, vintage watches like this one are terrific. Believe it or not, they used to make watches that looked like watches "” as opposed to the hubcap-sized pieces sold today.

Ebay link here.

The seller has a bunch of other vintage watches for low BINs in his store. I can't vouch for authenticity, but I felt that the third party endorsement made it worthwhile to post this.

Vintage bullhead chronos aren't your regular US market Japanese watches. Clean pieces are in very high demand, this Seiko from the same seller, for example, will surely be bidded up further.

Here's why:
The 6138 is the first integrated chronograph movement complete with column wheel, vertical clutch and balance bridge. The only other watch with this combination is the current Rolex Daytona.
