Stopped by earlier this afternoon - most of the shoes on sale are their "Made in Italy" models (with unattractive, snub-nosed lasts). There are a few EGs scattered here and there, but nothing all that exciting. I left empty-handed.

    Thanks for all the info.

I'm not sure who I dealt with, one of the older gentleman by the purple label suits as well as an African American gentleman right next to the shoes (who seemed more knowledgable, yet arrogant).

Any idea of the name of the 3-eyelet plaintoe with medallion show?

    Thanks again

No problem. I don't know the name of that model, unfortunately.

As far as I know, there are only two shoes made in England on that entire rack - the G&Gs and EGs. All of the EGs should be on the 89 or 888, I dont think RL uses the 202 - at least, I've never seen it. So look for the EG oval inside the shoe with the last info. IIRC, the G&Gs have their model info handwritten on the tongue - including the G&G last info. Should be relatively easy to tell one from the other. Everything else is made in Italy.

I was just there yesterday when the sale "officially" started. Could be things are getting snapped up but there were at least 8 EG/ 2 G&G models on sale. And a few more on the right shelf that were not included in the sale.

The writing on the tongue is what I thought made them G & G.

Thanks a million for all the help!

    @Philovance

Thanks for all the help, I called back to Mary I believe who was great help and ordered the black captoe, with medallion laceups that I was on the fence about this morning. For some reason confirming they are g&G made me bite the bullet:slayer:

Unfortunately they 3 eyelet bluchers were not available in my size.

Now any idea how to get lasted trees for these g&g shoes?

Honestly, I didnt even look at the black shoes so there are probably even more models on sale - I was just referring to the brown/tan models that I took a closer look at.

Glad you found something! I dont think you can go wrong with EGs or G&Gs at this price.

Edit: Mary is great too although she may have reeled me in long ago by asking me whether my overcoat was bespoke :embar:

Haha - great move by her!

My original salesman was Russ, he was a pleasure to deal with although not very helpful or knowledgable in many areas.

I wish they had brown shoes in my size:-(

I got a bunch of pm's about pricing.

The lace up loafers and penny loafers that are made by G&G were 669 + NY tax equaled $728.37, and the ankle boots which I believe are Made by EG were 749 + tax.

They have some at the Bev Hills store too, although I have not been so I don't know what models they have from EG or G&G

The black captoe is definitely g&g, confirmed by Eric when i was there yesterday. A tad too narrow or instakop

+1 I had the same problem with the narrowness, esp. in the toe box

I think they would be if they had any left - the SA thought so but never confirmed for me because they were out of size 10.
