How would you like EG shoes for around $400?

First come (or first call) first served.

I was contemplating making some money off this tip, but since I'm such a nice guy

I'll just give you the telephone number to call. The sales associate has been tipped off about the glut of phone calls sure to come.

Details:

EG Ashby (in burnt pine) monk shoe with hand-sewn norwegian front. 888 last Sale price $405
sizes available 8.5/9, 9/9.5, 9.5/10 and maybe some larger sizes

EG Cardiff in Nutmeg suede, 888 last Sale price $360
sizes availabe 7/7.5, 8.5/9 and maybe some larger sizes

In smaller sizes like 6.5/7 I saw a black chukka-like shoe but with monk strap.

There's also some Barker Black loafers in brown and suede in sizes 8, 8.5, and 9. These go for around $217 (and no taxes!)

I was too busy drooling and buying myself a pair of each to notice too much about other sizes. But when in doubt, just call.

Call Bob Kline at Men's shoes at Saks Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh.

Ready, get set, GO! Let see how long this last.

what is the name of the monk/chukka combo shoe?

Lee - why did you go to Pitt?

I said a few days ago there was going to be a EG frenzy, surprised it took this long.

When you say maybe larger sizes, don't suppose you mean UK12/12.5? Anyway, I'm waiting on a call back from Bob. Wonder if bigbris1 pulled the trigger before me?

They have EG in Saks Pittsburgh? I haven't been there in a while, but I'm pretty sure the Boston Saks tops out at Teva.

I sure will enjoy them. Thanks.

Props to the original poster who tip us off to the sales at Saks.

NO, they don't have normally carry EG at the Saks in Pitt. According to Bob the sales associates, this Saks got lucky this time. Apparently they allocate shipments quite randomly. I would not have EVER guess that this Saks would get anything. I had to suppress my urge to buy them all and flip for profit.

So, they randomly got these shoes and then randomly discounted them to a third of the regular price?

Evidently the Pitt Saks missed out recently on other sales items, so this time they get the shoes.

I'm truly perplexed how this works too. One would think they'd allocate highly desired items to highly-trafficked stores, but alas, it does not seem to be the case.

And to think I walked right by the entrance this afternoon but didn't go in because I wanted to go thrifting...
