Wandered into my local store and saw the signs. Everything is on sale but its all off MSRP so the deals suck as of now. Watches were at 20%. The stores are due to close by Christmas but it could be sooner if all the inventory in your particular store goes faster.

They gave 20% off watches before the store was bought by a liquidation house. Hopefully the discount increases incrementally over time.

I've never managed a good deal on a decent watch at a jewelry store closing. Well I take that back -- I bought my gf a stainless steel Eibl quartz watch at about 70% off retail, which was a little better than I could have done on the gray market. But IWC, J-LC, etc? You can get those at discounts of 30%+ every day, and I've never been able to do substantially better at a "going out of business" sale.

The BBB store at the Cherry Creek mall here in Denver has been "going out of business" for about five months now. 20% off MSRP is the most I'd ever pay a dealer for a new watch. To me, watch sales start at 40% off and go down from there. The CC store had a few nice IWC and Zeniths, but those went quick as did Omega. At last look, they were down to some fashion quartz watches.

My store still has a couple nice looking IWCs. I'm waiting for price to drop some more. 20% off MSRP is nothing. I can get that everyday from any jewelry stores in the area.
