Some Allen Edmonds have been marked down at Nordstrom for their semi-annual sale.

I couldn't resist. I purchased the black Cliftons for $199. Don't forget your favorite cash-back websites.

Went over at lunch and bought a pair of Cliftons. My SA said they just got a whole shipment right before the sale so they were fully stocked on every size in D width.

Like you can get cashback with your credit card (think 1% back on grocery, 3% on gas, etc...) , there are sites that specialize in that. You have to sign up on their site (free) and go through them before making the purchase on nordstrom, so that they "register" the transaction. Percentage vary from site to site, periods, etc. Here's a comparative for nordstrom:
http://www.cashbackholic.com/cashback-rebates-Nordstrom.com.html

for online purchases, outside of the ccs' ones (discover, boa), I've mostly uses ebates, mrrebates, fatwallet without any issues.

btw, anyone knows if the nordstrom in Palo Alto or SF carry E width and such. Last time I went to the one in San Mateo, they only had medium, which on PA doesn't work for me.

Here is one website I use for rebates. It provides 5% off for Nordstrom. Please ref if you don't mind helping out. Mr. Rebates

And is the July sale also online? No AE stores anywhere near me.

I'm also wondering, does Nordstrom have any other AE on sale during the Anniversary period outside of the PA and strands?

@kidsampson: Yes, it will be online as well.

Thanks mekato1 for the confirmation. Now decisions, decisions. I was actually thinking about picking up a pair of either the AE Park Avenues of Fifth Avenues tomorrow at a local shop during their Father's Day sale. They would be $268 total and they throw in a free pair of cedar AE shoe trees. I've heard the same can be had during the anniversary sale for $209. Worth waiting or are quantities and sizes limited during the sale?

That is a really nice shoe at the price range - especially in burgundy and walnut.

I never considered AE shoes before, and have a pair of burgundy Aldos (yes, I need to wash my mouth out - however, soft leather and extremely comfortable) and a pair of black Loake 1880s Aldwych. I'm not keen on the style (capital last) on the Loake Aldwych - too wide (chunky) and too conservative. Also, the sole is quite hard. That said, for my first adult pair of shoes, good construction and I like the smell of the leather. Pity I missed the boat in terms of the Norwich, Truro and Wells.

I have a pair of black Meermin wholecuts and black Meermin single monk shoes on the way. Too much black. Unfortunately, unless I MTO, neither available in any other colour. Besides, those will be for play.

£135 for the AE Clifton Oxfords? I think these could work both for business use and casual. I really like the style and the choice in colours. I'll make a mental note to consider these AEs for my work 'go to' shoes, because I cannot get on with the styling for Loakes 1880.

If it wasn't for the fact that I need other wardrobe pieces, and I have a very expensive trip to Japan in Autumn, I'd buy the AE.

Goddamn! This forum is bad for the wallet.
