I wouldn't pay full retail for an AE belt, but that was the only deal to be seen on that page. Those shoes look like a cobblers abortion.

I've been mostly lurking on these forums for the past several weeks, but have noticed cordovan shoes (the leather, not the color) are highly sought after.

What about cordovan leather makes shoes made from it so coveted?

It's horse butt, so it's rarer and what not. One butt, one pair of shoes.

If you have been lurking so much you know that there's a SEARCH button on top. Use it.

This topic has been discussed to death so let's not try to start a new thread, because then it'll go straight to the dumb thread section.

OK?

Pretty sure you can get most pairs of AE at half that if you wait.

Someone's going to have to provide some balance to this thread, so I'll do it.
I own 14 pair of AE's. I have had no problems with my shoes at all, ever.
I get compliments on my AE shoes constantly. My feet are comfortable in them and I am more than happy with my purchases.
The cordovan AE Bradley fine and a good price for shell cordo.
True, they are not the most elegant style, and the fussiest people here will say that it was a waste of a good horse.
That said, they are a good buy for the money. A good conservative rainy day shoe that doesn't draw attention.
The second link, the AE Bel Air is already agreed by most everyone here, to be one of the nicer designs from AE, and therefore also a good deal.
There are outspoken AE haters on this board, and that is fine. There are also staunch supporters of AE and that is fine too. The bottom line is, they are both a good buy for the money if that is what you like. Most members (and lurkers) here can't afford the damned high-end stuff and/or would never have a place to go in them anyway. That is why AE is a good solid investment. Most of their models are conservative, and will perform in 99% of people's needs.
Bashing AE product for the sake of it is cheap, convenient, un-imaginative, stale and tired.
Here's an idea..instead of outrightly bashing every AE thread, please provide specific links to the alternatives. At least that would be a positive and pro-active effort.
Have agreat day

actually i am wearing my black AE bradleys right now. not cordovan though.

they arent the most comfortable shoe (maybe because i got a size 10E instead of a regular 10D, for point of making them look bulkier; that is my aesthetic with bradleys)
