I called because I saw the announcement with an obvious expiration date of 9/30, and thought the fact it wasn't working might be a mistake.

So don't blame me if stuff gets cancelled; clearly they were aware of it before I called.

I was speaking generally; I don't blame anyone.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, I was about to spend more money than I should have.

Agreed. Almost bought Darlton Loafers at 50% off even though I really didnt need them or have the $400 to spend. Kind of a blessing in disguise lol

100% agree. $450 (somehow) sounded too good to be true on a pair of Carneys. I had a morning meeting where the entire time I was debating and was ready to pull the trigger after I got out. Luckily too late.

Do not mean to brag but I bought only what I really needed, what I would have buy on regular RL sale, a couple of pair of jeans, socks, those hiking boots that have ridiculous RL logo on them and non-Darlton/Marlow loafer. If it comes good if not I will buy these items on next F%F sale. Hopefully those hiking boots and loafer will fit.

Honestly I think those Marlows/Darltons are the most over-hyped shoes ever. A great example of SF groupthink herd mentality. If Allen Edmonds released shoes like that, the forum would be full of posts announcing the blobbiness of the shoes, ugliness of the medallion, etc etc etc,

We're all entitled to our opinions, but I own the Darlton/Marlow wingtips and they are absolutely awesome. But then again I like that clunky double sole look.

People act like the Darlton looks like a Barrie lasted Alden. If you look at the two together, 325 last is dainty in comparison.

ironically, just received in the mail today a RL 25% off coupon, in store or online, with 10% of your purchase going to the Pink Pony Fund. Doesn't apply to Purple Label or Black Label apparel, as usual. (After today's fiasco, I'm not saying a word about the code.:D)

Btw, one time I called and said that I missed the sale and wondered if they'd mark something on sale for me, I think they took off like 30%.
