Neither. My brother is going the way of Xbox One, though.

My 11 year old son, a heavy gamer as you might imagine, is X Box 1 all the way.

The ps4. I've never owned an xbox. I used to play Socom 2 online with a few of my good friends, and occasionally did the same with the ps3 (until mine broke about 2 years ago), so I never had much of a reason to go with an xbox. I just found out they are charging $50 a year to play online, and here I thought the console was a deal at $399 compared to the release price of the ps3. I am managing to get mine for $319 tomorrow, so I can't complain too much.

I'm mostly waiting it out to see who develops more exclusives and new IP, but since I've always been a PlayStation fan since the first generation, I'll most likely buy the PS4 first.

There's been a bunch of scuttlebutt lately concerning the XBONE's lack of power, reduced resolution and framerates, and general bugs.

The PS4 is far from perfect but it seems Sony has been working pretty hard to resolve their software bugs, but on the hardware side it seems they're on top. Also Sony says you can swap the hard drive for a SSD without voiding the warranty. Good guy Sony!

I'm fine with using my first gen PS3 for now since Gran Turismo 6 is a PS3 title and I believe the next Metal Gear is as well. Will upgrade when titles that I want are exclusively PS4.

Unless you're a hardcore gamer who needs the latest console NOW NOW NOW, I'd put off getting either system until bugs/kinks are addressed. But right now, it's looking like I'd choose PS4 over Xbox1.

I ended up paying a total of $406 for the ps4 plus 3 games. My fiance is a pharmacist at Target and she got 20% off, plus another 10% off for some random special running for employees. They were also running a buy 2 games get 1 free, so after I sell the 3rd game I got for free it'll only be around $350 :slayer:

I'm pretty frustrated with the PS4. I've not been able to get it to display through my receiver. When I first unboxed it I couldn't get it to display when connected directly to the TV either and had to boot into safe mode and update the system software from a flash drive. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to display through the receiver (adjusting all of the video output settings), but to no avail. Does anybody have a suggestion for what to do next?

I don't know exactly what your problem is, but Kotaku and other sources have reported that bad HDMI ports are causing people to get a fuzzy display or no display at all.

I love the PS3 so after the bugs shake out if the PS4 is comparable I'll go with that.

The access to Amazon instant video and youtube are my primary use of the device. I did play through The Last of Us this past year and it was an awesome game.

"Winter" was my favourite chapter. Ellie was badass.
