    It depends on body size and the whole subject is controversial, but a can of tuna per day (or the four or five days per week someone works out) is not a good idea

    I guess it boils down to preference. I'd rather eat a can of tuna than chug a protein shake anyday!

    Your body can only digest a finite amount of protein per day, and anything above that will be excreted. I think the recommended amount of protein per day is 0.8-1g per kg of body weight. You should always try to use a mixture of sources for protein. Relying solely on supplements is a bad idea.

    I'd go with Optiumum Nutrition's double chocolate protein powder, if you mix it with milk it tastes just like chocolate milk, it's great, I can't even count how many tubs I've gone through.

    ON Chocolate is my favorite as well. I also like ON cookies and cream mixed with ground oats.

    Though, if you really want to bulk up, you don't just need more protein (actually, ingesting extroardinary amounts of protein can be dangerous and cause renal failure, stick to 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight at the maximum), you need more of all the macronutrients. You basically need to keep the same percentage of macronutrients (for example, 20% of calories from fat, 40% from protein, 40% from carbs) but with increased calories (a good rule of thumb to bulk up is bodywieght multiplied by 15 plus 500).

    Also, eat a lot of meat (pork, beef, venison, buffalo, etc.). Tuna and poultry are good for extra protein, but they're not that good for bulking because they are not very calorie dense. A lot of those calories are from saturated fat, but saturated fat can be good for you if you need to bulk up because it's calories and saturated fat has been shown to increase testosterone levels.

    Believe it or not, walnuts are an excellent source of protein and omega 3s.

    I have three words of advice: Whey Protein Isolate (WPI)

    Not all protein powders are equal, and whey protein isolate is by far the best quality and most readily absorbed. And, far less likely to create side-effects like the runs.

    You can probably get it in the US. Or, look for a good WPI at the local GNC.
