I just bought a new brush from The Hanger Project. As I was unwrapping it (there was a lot of paper wrapping), I misestimated where the brush was placed in the packaging and it rolled onto the kitchen table. Of course, there seemed to be some gunk on the exact spot that it landed, and I need to clean it off. I figure that running the bristles under water would dry them out, but how about cold water? After all, I know that Kent toothbrushes are also natural bristle (hand sewn), so they must be able to withstand a moderate amount of water. I figured I'd drop by here before emailing The Hanger Project.

If it's truly "gunk", I'd use dish detergent for it's emulsifying properties to truly clean your brush.

I've done it on my Kent brushes too, to no ill effects.
