Proper length for overcoat sleeves?

I just got a new wool overcoat with sleeves that end about halfway between the last knuckle of my thumbs and the tip of my thumb (sleeve hangs over my other 4 knuckles). Is this too long?

That's way too long for my tastes. I wear my overcoat sleeves around a 1/4 inch longer than my shirt sleeves, which are a 1/4 inch longer than my siutcoat sleeves.

I agree with Tomasso that what you have are much too long. I prefer mine slightly longer than what Tomasso suggests, the idea being to prevent normal movement causing the sleeves to ride up and off your gloves.
