do you mind sharing the other changes planned for the sizes?

Can't get into the details now - but the changes are related to posture adjustments, shirt front lengths and button spacing. When we get this update done we'll also be able to add the straight hem design option.

Looking at that Albiate khaki twill and thinking that would make an awesome military or safari inspired shirt. Are epaulets an option?

Any idea how much size discrepancy PC considers normal? I just received two shirts made to the same specs. One measures the same as my other shirts; one was 1-1/4" longer.

It's in Thomas Mason Comfort Linen ... I wondered if maybe they built in a ton of extra shrinkage allowance. So I washed it twice (cold), and then thrown in the dryer for 30 minutes (something I don't usually do at all). It's still a full inch long. I may try one more wash and dry, since the process doesn't seem to be harming the look or feel of the linen.

Sorry for the delay here. Some other developments have been taking longer than expected - hard to predict these things sometimes. This is still high priority for me though - it includes many other updates for sizes as well. If no more surprises pop up, I think this should be done by end of March at the latest.

thank u!

Something sounds suspicious there. We don't currently apply any shrinkage adjustment in the shirt length. I'd suggest measuring the back length to compare it to what the shirt size says it should be. If it's really 1.25" over spec we'll have it remade for you no problem.

You guys have always been great with that. I had a shirt that shrunk after two cold washes way too much. It was clearly something weird, and you remade it for me in a different fabric. That's why I have no hesitation in buying from PC--25ish shirts total.

Thanks, Seph. I remeasured everything and indeed I made a mistake. There's still 1+ inch difference in the shirt length, but it turns out one of the shirts is a little long and the other is a little short. I've had a chance to wear both now, and they both look good, so I'm happy with them.

But am still curious about the difference. Why don't you apply shrinkage adjustment to the length?

Has anyone tried Regular armpit vs Tailored, I’ve done numerous tweaks on multiple shirts, but after the 4th cold wash and hang dry the back/armpit area is incredibly tight when reaching forward.

Wonder if tailored armpit is cut too high, especially with broad shoulders/lats. Thoughts?

Same issue here. Did you ever manage to figure this one out?

So - to avoid confusion, tailored shoulder armpit actually has a slightly lower armpit than full. But it's only 1/8" lower so it's not that big of a deal. More info here: https://propercloth.com/reference/tailored-vs-full-shoulder-armpit-fit/

Tightness in the armpit when reaching forward could be caused by a variety of things: https://propercloth.com/reference/tightness-under-the-armpits/

There's always a tradeoff between getting that really fitted look and having more comfort/range of motion. It's all about finding the balance that works best for the individual.

For what it's worth, I've been gradually decreasing the chest measurement on my shirts, and have found that I get more arm mobility rather than less. The closer fit is putting the arm seams in the right place, so there's less pulling. Didn't expect this.

I assume that if I go too far, this trend will reverse.

From the first document I have the following question. Does going from Normal Slope to Square slope reduce the armhole size?
