    Here's the whole initial definition:

Science fiction is a genre of fiction dealing with imaginary but more or less plausible (or at least non-supernatural) content such as future settings, futuristic science and technology, space travel, aliens, and paranormal abilities. Exploring the consequences of scientific innovations is one purpose of science fiction, making it a "literature of ideas"

Also, the parentheses that contain the phrase "or at least non-supernatural" would mean that it doesn't have to be plausible, to stoop to the low level of actually having a technical conversation with someone like you. I'm not even sure why I responded to you, other than an apparently stupid knee-jerk curiosity, which I'm now regretting.

So you thought people being used as batteries was plausible or at least non-supernatural?

Sorry I'm not dumb enough to accept that. I'll bet you were a big fan of that battle star galactic a remake series. Please tell me you also considered that science fiction. Please.

It's presented as non-supernatural. The movie deals with sci-fi concepts like artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, etc. It's sci-fi. You're being obtuse.

edit: do you consider Alien to be sci-fi? Because it deals with FTL travel which is totally implausible. Hell, that throws out a majority of sci-fi right there.

I've tragically neglected this post. Would you mind telling everyone what you do exactly?

At last...it is happening....'Barney Vs Predator'

(leaked screemplay in progress Version 1.0)

Barney naps in the forest but is awakened by the growing sound of breaking branches.
(rubbing blurry eyes) 'Huhhlo? Who's there?'

The footsteps of the apporaching stranger become louder.
The cloaked predator taps Barney on the left shoulder from behind.
'OK...who's there!', Barney nervously inquires as he swings round to face an empty forest.
The predator then taps Barneys right shoulder.
'Heyyyy, hyuk...cut that out. That's not fair! Lemme see you! You don't have to hide from me, I won't hurt you.'
The predator decloaks in front of Barney.
'Wowww there you are! Boy you really scared me sneaking up on me like that. Hi my name is Barney! Would you like to be my friend?'
    Predator cocks head inquiringly.
'Don't be afraid. Do you live here? I tell you what, how about you take off your helmet and introduce yourself, what's your name?'
Predator unscrews air hoses (decompression hiss) and removes mask. Looks at Barney.
'Aww shucks, I'm sorry. I see now why you wear the mask. Well it doesn't matter because I love youu. Would you like a huu...'
Predator engages arm blades and slices Barney across abdomen, cutting into his main cables; the purple starts flowing.
'Heyyyyyyy ohhh-owwww, that hurts! You know that wasn't very friendly of yo.......'
    Another slice
'Hyukk-owww, I ws just trying to be frien....'
Pred delivers a power thrust, blades straight in the belly and upwards, disembowling the giant purple dino.
Barney slumps to ground, falling on his side, the dumb smile still on his face..
    'Ohhhhowww there goes the day'
    Barneys eyes roll up white.

Predator victory roar. Tosses back a beer.
    Fade to black.
    Cue rousing triumphant score.

At the time I was an EFX supervisor and this was for a commercial that Derek was directing.

I'v never seen The Crow, but the Wachowskis were always pretty forthright about the huge influence that the Hong Kong action movies of the 80s and 90s had on The Matrix.

The Animated Matrix stories have stood up to the test of time rather well IMO.

YUP. Watched a directors cut not long ago, it's actually aged well.

This and the pacing of the film and the feeling of immensity/silence/isolation of space. The sets did not hurt either.
