Some type of acid. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the blood of one of the creatures they encounter much like in the original films.

I'm sure it would be a great film no matter what, but we just don't get enough hard R Sci-Fi. :)

I hope it's a good cross between alien and aliens. Scary, but not too scary with a few action elements.

Trailers seem to indicate there will be more action then in the first Alien.

I wish Ridley would "re-make" in his own vision Alien 3. I actually thought it was pretty good but believe it would have been even better in his hands.

Either that or AvP - now that would be badass.

Yeah I can almost imagine Ridley making a decent AvP movie. Almost.

I see no reason that a good AvP movie couldn't be made. The concept is solid enough. Just needs a good director, budget and script.

If he followed closely the plot of the original dark horse comic series it would be sweet.

I had that graphic novel when I was younger and still remember how awesome it was. :slayer:

Was that the one with the human woman who had been raised among the Predators?

Technically yes, the OG was that she ended up winning their respect by fighting with them to defeat an alien horde. The sequel comics explore her actually joining them in hunts, etc. It went off the reservation….

I am not the guy who gets geeked-out about upcoming releases, but fuuuuuuck, that preview before the Avengers! Might have been better than the movie that followed.

Yes, I remember not liking the sequel as much either.

They did take some of the ideas and themes from the graphic novel and used them in the first AvP movie. Too bad they didn't follow more of it.

I don't see how anyone could make a AvP film without the film being the scifi equivalent to a boxing/wrestling film from like the 40s or something. To me it just doesn't work in any context where it's not poor taste. I just don't see how you can match Ridley's high brow ambitions when he works within scifi with such an absurd spectacle.

I don't know, I think their is a scenario - set in the future where you could make it work. The original comic is a good start with some tweaks.

I disagree with the premise that following the original AvP graphic novel would make for a good film. The AvP graphic novel sucked balls.
