PRL outlet quality

I've got a friend who works at a PRL outlet, and thus can get the merchandise there at a significant discount (I think it's about 30% off the outlet price). However, I'm pretty suspicious of the quality of the stuff there, especially since I know some brands (BB and I think Banana, maybe JCrew as well) make lines of inferior quality specifically for their outlets.

I've seen this discussed before, but never with a definitive answer; can anyone speak with authority on the quality of Polo outlet merchandise?

Sometimes RLPL will make its way through there, though

I often see RLBL and RLPL at the outlets. However, most of it is XXL, orange, or damaged.

I used to work at a Polo Outlet (summer job in high school...you do what you can find). Clothing quality was indeed often a bit lower (most obvious with the sweaters) but if you look in the sale racks, you can often find black/purple (and even some RRL) label stuff, as well as some legit RL stuff (I forget what exactly these items were called, they had a specific term). I picked up a cashmere purple v neck for 34 dollars.
