Cool. Can I get that bespoke? Painted to match my eye color? Will you toss in a Bentley like the guy down the ocean? I'd like the seats covered in whale foreskin like Onassis too...

I've thought about a catamaran - something like the Prout 64 but they went out of business - oops.

Anyway perhaps someday until that time it is back to work to find the next Google to fund...

I'd go with a boat although I would much prefer a sailboat.

Owning a boat in the Caribbean is actually one of my goals for the next 5 years. I don't want anything extravagant, something used and around 35' in length I would guess. I'll admit, I don't really know too much about boats. I've just always wanted one.

My job involves working in isolated areas for 4-8 weeks non-stop at a time then getting anywhere from 2-6 weeks off. I'd like to be able to fly down to the Caribbean and spent my time off in my boat.

Of course both private jets and yachts are fully worth it if you got the money..the non restricted freedom of movement around the globe they will allow you is "nearly" priceless...lol!

Maybe I'd go for "boat" also smaller one since I love water...one would start with a nice speed boat in the Mediterrean, maybe...I'll post pics when I'll be in St. Tropez again next June...

No way would I pay for my own private jet, if I have that kind of money I could probably dial a friend and have use of his/her jet if I needed something right away. Other than that, first class is fine with me. You never know who you'll meet

I am pretty sure you can meet some interesting people if you have a private jet as well.

Mile High Club count in a private jet? or does that defeat the purpose?

You'll meet far more interesting people at FBOs then in first class. The first time I flew private Shania Twain was waiting for her plane...that was more then a decade ago when she was smoking hot. You'll run into numerous celebs frequently at FBOs - the facility at Van Nuys daily is filled with 'em.

Pretty much, most private jets have beds or couches so the adventure is mostly gone

+100. I've seen numerous celebrities/politicos in the FBOs at Baltimore/DC/Miami than I have ever seen flying FC.

Most do not. At least most that I have been in do not, and that is more than a few.

Depends on what you've been in, I guess. The few that I've seen personally have had them. Either way a private jet gives you more room than an airliner lavatory.

Again, not really. I have flown in GVs that do, and in tons of Hawkers and Citations where you can barely fit in the john at all. Most business jets are small, 7-seaters, teh big ones are really the exception in my experience. It is about convenience and time, not necessarily luxury.

I think we can all safely conclude that you're doing something wrong.

Maybe I've just been in too many oversized business aircraft. Have a look around a private 757 if you ever get the chance, that's where my beds comment came from (the one I checked out had 3, IIRC). Entirely too bad I didn't get to fly in it.

Iammatt, GVs are badass

One of my clients is a big utility and they have their own small air fleet. It's wild to take the Lear jets to another city. Lots of luxury and speed and the convenience of the private airports is sublime.
