Overrated? Probably by some people...but of any overrated band they certainly deserve it most. Pretentious? Uhh...? Have you ever listened to Radiohead?

You're banned from the thread now. Sorry C'mon, big pun. Don't just hate on radiohead because it's cool to be different. It's funny that no one really said **** about hating radiohead until they started getting a lot of mainstream footing and critic dick sucking in the early 00s. Not that many people coming out after ok computer listening to it and saying "man, these guys are terrible."

This. I get the feeling people who hate Radiohead do so because of the way the media treats them as the end-all be-all of cutting edge music, the poster children of "experimental rock." Then the assumption is made that people are listening to them not because they make good music but because they're Radiohead and it's how future music should sound like.

Besides, I don't know too many self-described hardcore Radiohead fans that list anything after Kid A as their favorite record despite their love for the later albums.

Ironically enough, "Talk Show Host" just came up on itunes shuffle now.

The first message board I ever joined was the At Ease message board...which was all Radiohead, all the time. Radiohead consumed my life during high school--led me to pick up a guitar and start aa band and led me to thinking I could change the world because Radiohead was the sound of the future and all that.

I agree, though--I just don't think they've done anything as good as "Kid A" since "Kid A". "In Rainbows" was pretty good, but nothing is as capitivating to me as The Bends-OK Computer-Kid A.

And I don't understand the love that even "Amnesiac" gets...other than "Pyramid Song" and perhaps "I Might Be Wrong" and "Dollars and Cents", it's a dismal album ("Morning Bell/Amnesiac" is one of the worst songs that I have ever heard). "Hail to the Thief" is a big mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The song "Blow Out" is terribly underappreciated, though.

To be honest, I didn't really like In Rainbows, but it landed after almost a year of exclusively listening to Radiohead and I got kinda burned out. Liked their rockier phase more, even Pablo Honey to an extent.
