Hello all! I have been "Googling" for advise and have found that this site seems to have pretty good advise regarding attire so here is my question.

I am going to a wedding and will be wearing this suit:

Pattern

And I wanted to know if wearing this shirt (I already ordered it) will work with the suit.

Any advise would be great thanks!

Plain blue shirt would be better; however, you can get-away with that shirt, as it is small pattern.

In addition, wear a plain tie - in my opinion navy or dark grey

Great combo. Agree a navy tie would be good. If you want to be really bold, a navy paisley tie. It's a wedding, you can have some fun.

Thank you guys for the replies! I picked the suit first then picked the shirt so far after I kinda forgot about the pattern/ color

I was thinking about going with a slim navy knit tie or should I just do a regular tie?

Also do you still recommend a pocket square or will it make look like too much is going on?

Lastly im thinking about dark brown shoes vs light brown shoes any objections?

Thanks!

Three patterns? Don't know about that rec. Go w/ the navy plain tie Macallan recommended.

It didnt look bad here.

No m8, the bold navy paisley tie recommendation is the one I don't agree with. The plain navy tie is the one to go with.

BTW, what's that in the foreground? His grillz?

foreground looks like his silver slugger award or mvp award or something. i think that's matt kemp. i don't really agree that it looks good though.

It appears to be Tom ford, that alone however doesn't make it good.

Back on track . . . While a very experienced dresser might get away with a paisley tie, you'd have to positively exude self-confidence. If you can, go for it. If you are just the least bit hesitant, plain navy. And as for the pocket square, white linen or a contrasting grey will be fine. Again, an advanced dresser would match his pocket square to his socks and match his socks to his mood. If you are the least bit hesitant, match your trousers with the socks and do a contrast with the pocket square. And dark brown shoes will be fine.

Navy Knit or silk? slim?

2"ish navy knit silk would be great. The right paisley could look good too, but the wrong one could be a disaster. Wait until you have a much better idea of pattern matching to go for that one.
