ahhh.... the tradition and history. How amazing to think that he continues to have his shoes made in the same way gentlemen have been for generations. I would presume that this is at Lobb.

All I need now is to get him some hangers...

Cheers,

Maybe you should offer bespoke hangers with a custom-contoured shoulder last. Might be a good idea for the man who has everything.

is it me, or do alot of these people seem to take the absolute worst possible economic times to go shopping, and leak it.

I understand he probably needs some shoes (dont we all) but if i were him, i'd want to be as unnoticed as possible for spending right now.

The whole point was to be noticed. He wanted to show support for traditional British craftsmen.

I am finding myself agreeing with mafoo more and more lately. Maybe he is trying to jumpstart the economy. Remember, it times of economic crisis he wants it to appear like everything is normal to boost morale.

right, and thain was just showing support to rug makers.

Its true i'm sure, but in times like these, it just doesnt come off well in my eyes.

If its his intend, i'd find it would have much better impact to do it in secret.

I've come to like and respect him more in recent years. I saw a documentary about his charitable and non-profit work on the anniversary of his 60th birthday that was really quite interesting. It showed the side of his personality and "professional" life that I hadn't know that much about before. I have a few friends who work for the Prince's Trust, one of his youth-based charities, and they seem to do really good work, that has had positive effects on the lives of a lot of disadvantaged youth.
