We are serving Prime Rib for Easter dinner and are curious which of our 3 mid-range reds would prove a good complement.

1.) 2005 d'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz

2.) 2005 Columbia Crest *Reserve* Cab

3.) 2007 Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy

My gut is pointing to the Columbia Crest. Thoughts?

Do you really have to pick one of those three? All decent wines, but all a bit young yet. I'd probably decant them for at least an hour.

If your celebrating, and its Easter, and your marking something special I would go with;

Chateau Beaucastel 1990 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

oh really?? why not to prefer the more sophisticated Chateau Beaucastel 1987 Chatmanteau du Poperrei with a hint of Paris de chateau bouquet of the spring of 45??
or better yet, because it is going to be rare steak, why not to pair it with the delectable sophistication of the mont blance casine royale tableaue de dooborerrei derrierre of 07 bitti blancy bo du Pariseimo? i cannot believe you hath not suggested these two obvious selections.

Thanks, Serg. I'll post what we chose next week. I believe the CC is a 95-point WS, but I might be wrong.
