I searched the forum for suggestions, but didn't see anything relevant. I'm looking for dress belts that are premium quality, but do not want to pay for a designer name. I plan to purchase sterling silver and gold buckles separately, so I'm focused solely on the belt itself. I have had bad experiences with belts in the past with discoloration and shredding. Any help would be appreciated!

The default choice would be Hermes. The best leathers you're likely to find. The belt should only be about $150, the high prices come from the buckles made from gold etc.

For lower prices and a a slightly tougher leather you could try Equus leather Here

Are you looking for buttery soft hide or something that will stand up to years of daily wear?

I usually wear business casual at the office so I need something to go with that. I'd use it daily with occasional wear on a suit. So, I'm guessing the answer would be the latter.

Wm Julian--he works with Mark Kielty, a buckle maker, and makes straps with snaps.

Try Andrea Greco belts if you can find them.

Couldn't find them.

I would try April in Paris. She sells belt straps and belts. The quality is very high.

Found her website but the website seems strange. Doesn't show different colors and doesn't have much variety it seems like.

Went to hermes website but they only had 4 belts. Didn't like any of them. Maybe I'm not looking at the right place? Where can I find a strap for $150?
I liked Equus leather. Do you have any good recommendations for a good first belt?
