I'm just now looking for a belt & I've heard of so many different brands, I'm kind of overwhelmed. I need some help choosing. What are you guys' favorite belts?

for jeans?

skinny jeans: i like the engineered garments belt a lot. the proportions work well.

not-so-skinny jeans: i'm fond of the atelier la durance belt. really thick and beefy, bridle leather, with a little metal key loop for your keys. the cmf homme belt is worth mentioning.

i don't really have many belts, actually. yeah.

i'd look into the sugar cane garrison belt. good price for a sick belt.

holy grail? the redmoon belts with all the **** on it.

for jeans...

i like a heavy stainless/pewter/nickel type buckle, the type that the tongue goes thru the other side of buckle too (makes a box when belted at the buckle)

for me, the buckle is most important. for the leather i like wider widths (around 1.75" is good, some jeans can't fit a 2" belt)

Well, I have two brown belts I usually use with cords, jeans et.c. One is an older belt which used to have some sort of thread/string trom across the sides that I have since removed so it now looks "punctured". It is a older belt so it has a beautiful patina now, shades of brown with hints of orange and red. Buckle is a slightly rounded one, tarnished (maybe silver I am not sure). I also bought just recently from Orvis what they call an "officer's belt" that is double pronged, bison leather with a small ring next to the buckle for attaching stuff.
Garisson belts (like the Sugarcane) can look nice, especially if you get a natural/tan one as the patina develops.

i'm wear the filson.com belt... 1.5" wide. I like the way the brass buckle looks against raw denim and it should age nicely!

Only $45, too.
