Pre Act of Union British flag lapel pin

One of the Professors in my MA program is retiring, and as he's an 18th century British historian, a few of us grad students thought it would be fun (as a joke) to get him a pre Act of Union British flag lapel pin (an East India Company flag would also serve). Has anyone ever seen such a thing?

Thanks.

I'm quite sure that lapel pins, at least as we know them, didn't exist in the 18th century; from what I can gather by Googling they were invented during the American Civil War, so obviously there's no chance of getting an 'original' one.

It looks like there are various types of East India Company coin which might be a good present; I imagine a historian would appreciate a period item rather than a modern replica.

"Britain" did not exist until the Acts of Union so you won't be able to find such a flag even if you were to commission the pin yourself. Do you perhaps mean a flag of "Great Britain" without Ireland?

I mean the Pre 1800 Union Flag:

Not the English pre 1707 Act of Union/pre 1606 Union of the Crowns flag.
