Power tie?

I need a tie that conveys a sense of power I'm thinking this one I have will work.

Doesn't do it for me, more fresh out of college than 20 year vet. I'd opt for solid red or navy with red polka dot.

What they said. I'd go with a solid primary color, but in any event definitely not the one you posted.

Arent you like 15 or 16? Don't really understand your need for a "power tie" at that age. Not trying to be a dick, just trying to understand your intent.

I'm debating tomorrow as a class project.

Sorry, no. Not really. That tie says "prep school" to me.

My personal choices:

1. Navy with narrow pink stripes
2. Navy with small white polka dots
3. Burgundy patterned tie

ok cool. Like others have said that tie looks more like an east coast prep school tie. Easiest thing to go with would be the suggestion of solid primary color like navy or red

Just don't wear a tie from a British club, school (prep school), university or military unit you did not attend or serve in. Our cousins from across the pond will ask you about it when you meet.
