Stop with the Gladiator bokeh grain shots... [IMG] Szeph, are those bikes part of a city program where you ride one and pick up a different one at your next stop? And where was that second shot taken?

I've already made a b/w version of one of the pics, which I'll show later.

They are indeed. If my memory serves me well, they are locked to some kind of system where you throw in coins to unlock them and then you can use them to ride through the city. Both pics were taken on the 2nd of July in Milano, Italy. It was a shopping trip with my gf, even though I'd rather call it 'The suffering of the Szeph' (first day of sales, spent at least 4 hours of standing in a corner while she rabidly searched through clothes). The second shot is of the arc to the high brand shopping boutiques when coming from the Plaza del Duomo. [IMG] I only took some snapshots that day, most look really bad. Somehow I found nothing I was really interested in taking a picture of.

Thanks, il ciclista. Some detail loss in the highlights, but they look nice and vivid.

[IMG] What are you doing on this forum if you're not at least attempting to match or exceed her shopping activity?

Keep up the good work with the photos. That arc shot was a beaut.

She bought jeans for 12€ during the sale, I looked at a double breasted peak lapel suitin navy with grey windowpane pattern that wasn't on sale, hell, there weren't even price tags at the stuff at Corneliani and Canali.

I like it, but (especially) the top left is washed out, which makes that area flat. Could you have "protected" (shielded) that area by selecting it before processing, or didn't it have more information there in the first place?

it was really blown out to begin with. It was a cloudy morning with the rays of light cutting through all the urban muck. I'd loved more details there myself.

Makes sense, il ciclista. You could crop it to a square (under the washed out part), but then you'd loose a large area of the spectacular sky. Would still make an interesting pic though, I think.

What was done there? Contrast and a filter of some sort? The tone looks a little blue(r) too. The clouds looks really cool [IMG]
