1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Shoes:
Wear a nice pair of brown shoes. They always look sharp with a navy blue suit.

    Here's how it looks:

    Shirt and Tie combos:
White shirt black tie (like the guy above)
A red tie with either white shirt or blue striped (like these men http://swipe.swipelife.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/power-suit-robb-report-main.jpg)

-1. I'd wear black shoes with a navy suit (or any suit).

Extremely poor advice. You should learn more first.

This thread is a mess. Don't wear black shoes and don't wear a white shirt with a black tie with a navy suit.

Black ties are for funerals. Black shoes are for work, or smart occasions.

Seriously, you can wear almost anything. Blue is such a versatile color.

    Please, don't listen to mccatemiddleton.

You'd be a fool to spend $695 on Armani shoes. Heck, they don't even sell half sizes. There are so many better shoes in that price range.

I definitely agree, a dark brown suit would work.

Who wears a black tie and white shirt with a navy suit?

To the OP, the combination and shoes depend on the situation and time. If going semi formal, try a white spread collar shirt with a french cuff and colored tie. With my navy suits I tend to wear dark purple, red, blue grenadine, and silver satin. Finish with a pocket square.

If you are wearing it in the day, any combination or dark brown to walnut shoes will work. Merlot always looks nice with a navy suit. For the evening and really in any situation, black shoes are appropriate.

Look about in the street or where you work or frequent and see what others do if you cannot determine this for yourself.
