I just thought I'd give a little feedback on my Yoox experience. I brought three coats from them last week in the sale. Their order trackign system links straight into UPS and hence is a great one-stop-shop to see where in the world your parcel is. True to their word, the package arrived 5 days later.
The box is a bit garish - multi-pastel coloured. Inside were the three coats, wrapped in black tissue paper. One was a very lightweight Neopolitan style with unpadded shoulders and no lining. It felt beautiful to handle, but had too much of a waisted effect - it was too large on the shoulders and too small around the waist. A more substantial garment might have got away with this, but the complete lack of padding or lining meant it stood out. Back to Yoox with that one.
The second coat was a pure cashmere DB in a camel colour. It felt nice (not truly luxurious, but certainly well beyond the price tag) and fitted well, but the consensus of all who saw it was that it made too much of a statement - the colour and DB but with peak lapels was quite striking. If I had the money and the wardrobe space I'd have kept, but it's heading back too.
The final coat was a wool / cashmere blend Costume National. It's got a very subtle pinstripe effect that virtually dissapears in some lights. Cut nicely, good fabric and well finished. Just what I wanted, despite being a last-minute addition to my shopping basket.
I went through the order return process on the Yoox website, which was easy to follow. Retaped the box back up, put the new address label on the front and phoned UPS. They arrived within an hour to collect the parcel and take it back to Yoox.
Overall, I've been wary of buying clothes online before - I've generally been dissapointed. This time has been entirely positive - shipping exactly as described, good price, and just what I wanted at the end of it all.
