Portuguese food and wine

Anybody familiar with Portuguese food able to give me some pointers on must-try dishes and wine at the restaurant below?

Eric, my few times in portogaul is struck me that ultra fresh seafood was a big part of the cuisine, so that should transfer well to Japan. cod is usually good, too. I like a dish that is beef cooked in a coffee sauce, which I didn't see on the menu.

Can't go wrong with any of those Bacalao dishes and the Cataplana or Rancho Viseu stews. Yum!

I had an incredible beef and pineapple dish in Lisbon a few years ago...probably the best entree I ever had.

Bacalao is like a salted cod, right?

The Beef Cheeks thread has me considering the Pork Cheeks on the menu. Never tried cheeks before (cue the edmorel jokes here).

Yep. Salted Cod.
There's actually a portugeuse dish called bacalhau a moda da pousada do castelo I know arecipe for, if you'd like it. It's basically like a bacalao omelette, but incredibly good.

Just back from the restaurant...it was excellent.

Highlights were:
Bacalhau à ZÃ

do Pipo: Codfish baked in the oven with onion sauce and mashed potatoes

And the Pork Cheeks!

Anyone looking for a good restaurant in Osaka, other than Japanese food, then I highly recommend Portugalia. Nice atmosphere and service too!
