Anyone here have ownership experience with a RUF Porsche? More / less problematic than a standard Porsche? Considering picking up a used Porsche, and have always appreciated the RUF modifications as well as the simple minimal aesthetic.

Rennlist is your best bet for these kind of Porsche questions.

Isn't the only RUF center in America in Texas? America does not seem like a good place to own those kind of vehicles....

I'd say, do all the RUF cosmetic things, but all of the invisible driveline mods should be done by a more local specialist shop, that way they can be there to fix it if it goes wrong... otherwise that car will be on the flatbed from Chicago to Texas every time it needs a fix.

Ruf's exclusive US rep is now in Southfield, Michigan. See the website http://www.rufauto.us/ruf/

I don't know anyone that has owned a complete Ruf automobile. The few cars I've seen with Ruf mods were limited to things like suspension mods and wheels.

RUFs are super reliable and can be serviced by any Porsche dealer or specialist.
Some RUF cars can be daily driven and can easily pick up miles with no issues unlike a Ferrari or Lambo
    Id say do it,

Btw, what model do you have?

That was RUF auto center, they're now known as RAC auto

RUF is registered as a manufacture in Germany, which means that if you buy a fully build RUF it's not a Porsche any more (just like Alpina BMW), it's a RUF they also have to live up to the same standards as every other manufacturer in Germany, so I would be very surprised if there was any problems.
