Poplin shirt

I bought a white poplin shirt recently and now I have a question about the fabric.
Is it suppose to be semi see through?
When I wear the shirt I can clearly see my pants though the shirt fabric.
I bought it to be used as a casual shirt, that I am not going to tuck into my pants.
Is it like this with all poplin shirt or is it just the cheap ones?

Poplin covers a lot of ground. That word alone could mean hundreds of different types of cloth.

Your shirt is not necessarily cheap, it's just not a dense weave. The cloth might be very expesive. If you want a white shirt that will never show through, look for oxfords or twills.

Curious, I tried a nice Pal Zileri Medium spread with 3 inch points collar herringbone white shirt,that showed all my chest.It was a 125$ dress shirt. But I´m not a stripper

So I let it go.

By the way, oxford cotton is not as nuclear white as Popeline.
