I always take a good shower after a fine black tie evening. I find the patina on the shoes accumulates faster with frequent exposure to soap and shampoo, but not sure of their depth rating.

I have taken my Orient Bambino on a cliff jump and it came out fine. Then there's a guy who dived using a $20k 10atm watch and the movt was soaked through.

:D:D Probably get a really good patina on the leather strap of a dress watch by showering with it regularly. Must give that a try!

Hello gents, I own 6 Seiko automatics, and 1 Kinetic.

I have never serviced any of them. How often should I have an horological service a watch?

Very fond of my Deep Blue. I don't think this one would have a problem going into the water even though I never wear a watch while swimming :D

Never. A waste of money. Wait until they have a problem to service. It may take up to 10 years based on my experience. If you take them mountain biking every weekend then 18 months.

Awesome. A few of them are pushing 10 years. Will wait for an explosion.

On those? Never, unless they are really failing, which you will notice.

I had to fully service a Seiko automatic that was gaining time like crazy because of a broken spring or some-such. Repair + cleaning/oiling + new seals + setting cost was $250, from a shop that knows/likes me, so gave me a discount.

Now imagine that cost x 7. :eek2:

Do it when you need it, not before.
