That's what all the reviews said...a perfect PMW. I can't stop taking pictures of this beauty. With most watches I have a hard time getting a good picture without glare, with this one there is no problem at all.

I'm actually really impressed with the color choices of the minute hand, face, and bezel. Medium blue somewhat desaturated, then a darker orange tone that doesn't strain your eyeballs, then finished off with a wonderful navy bezel. They go together so well.

Nice purchase!

I just impulse bought this new blue Alpinist. Hope it works out! Been looking for a new field-style watch, something other than my usual diver style.

Did you buy from Hodinkee? Can’t seem to find it elsewhere and Hodinkee only has a wait list option, perhaps because I’m not on the US

Yes, but it looks to be out of stock now. I must have gotten in just under the wire.

Did you wait like a whole 10 minutes after the Hodinkee email came out? :D

I had the green Alpinist and I just never really bonded with it. When I opened up that email from Hodinkee during my lunch I was really tempted to snatch this one up right away. The silver stainless steel looks fantastic with that matte blue watch face.

Wow! I didn't realize it had sold out that quickly. It doesn't look like it was a Hodinkee collaboration so there are probably some other retailers out there that have them available.

Ha! No, I'm not even on their list! I saw it on my Feedly feed and linked to it. I figured it would go fast, so I grabbed one. Figure I can return if it doesn't work out. I think I saw it was available from Seiko too.

Rec's for a good blue strap? Rubber maybe? I'd like to find a curved end rubber that would fit.
