I have begun the Great 2023 Watch Purge! and am starting out with this limited edition Seiko Sumo from Thailand.

It's a thing of beauty but time to help it find a home where it will actually get worn. Look for me over on WUS if you want more info. :p

Victim #2 of the 2023 Watch Purge is my Longines Legend Diver. I loved this watch and got quite a bit of wear out of it but haven't worn it in a very long time. After I've sold off a bunch of watches, I would actually consider another Legend Diver, but this time in the much smaller 36mm version.

Seiko Sportstimer for the Japanese domestic market from July, 1969. At least my research has led me to believe that the 21j movement and dial markings mean it was for the JDM, though the bracelet seems to be wrong. This one doesn't get much wrist time -- it is in need of a service and it's one of two watches I have that I am afraid to touch. Someday I'll work up the nerve.

I hadn’t worn this vintage Seiko “Ashtray” in a very long time and was going to make it the next victim of the watch purge but then I strapped it on for a bit and remembered how light it is and how well it fits. It may have just earned itself a stay of execution! 😂
