Benrus bumper automatic. First time rebuilding a bumper movement. It was a fun challenge.

If I would need to narrow down my watch collection to just one watch, this BB58 would be the winner.

Man I wish the black dial version didn't have that fake patina on the indices. Er, not even fake patina but straight up yellow.

I really don't want to spend $3k on a watch but uhhh yeah. I have a feeling temptation will get the better of me, especially if some new variations come out.

Have you considered picking up a Halios Fairwind second hand? It’s about 1/3 the cost of a BB58, and (I think) has a better dial and hands to go along with the 39 mm size, domed crystal, and tool-less quick adjust bracelet. I’ll throw in a picture for good measure.

I am not a big fan of that patina also. I hope they will introduce more BB58 variations this year.
The ones that are starting to grow on me are the old ETA versions, such as the blue bezel/black dial version. Unfortunately, whereas you could have picked one up for $2K used a few years ago, they now seem to be going for at least $3K.

I think those are BB Heritage in the 41 mm case, they still have it in the collection but with in-house movement.

Yes, but I'm not a fan of the thick, slab-like case on those 41 mm Heritage models, unless they've slimmed them down in the past year or two. The appeal of the old ETA versions is that they're thinner, more wearable and something different.

I don't like those 41mm Heritage model cases also. The BB58 case is a totally different story; great size and comfortable on my wrist. Can't compare with the old ETA version though.
