Was perfectly happy with my 'collection' until I bought the Bulova. Now I'm looking at my watch case and thinking...maybe I should fill these two slots that are left empty heh. Figured a field watch would round out my collection but, so far, none of them are speaking to me.

My most cherished watch is my father's Tissot Seastar Seven Day Date automatic bought in Rome in 1969. It is gold plated with a gold toned dial. The cushion case and the yellow gold tone gives it a distinctly 70s feel. The day window is in Italian, giving a constant reminder of the trip (I faintly remember it as was very young). The watch is a pain to set (no quick date function and I don't own a winder). I found the watch head buried in a box full of junk in 2006 at the parents'. It was discolored, had a cracked crystal and was improperly functioning. Dad told me he hadn't worn since 1986. I took it to my watchmaker who cleaned the case as best possible, put age appropriate acrylic crystal and serviced the movement. That was in 2006. It has been working like a charm ever since then. I tried to surprise him with the restored watch but, though he was pleased, he said he had no need for a watch in retirement. So it became part of the personal rotation. The watch feels and performs a lot like an Omega of that vintage. Not a surprise as Omega and Tissot had close collaboration for many decades. This exact reference of the Seastar Seven is ~ $150 when one pops up on eBay. The (close) equivalent Omega Constellation or DeVille in SS or gold plated runs about $1000 (I'm not equating the movements, just the aesthetics).
