Excellent news! I love watches from that era, but not their reliability or fragility. A modern take will be attractive.

Deer oh deer
Not a fan of this design already, this thing looks like a Seiko 5 on steroids, for ten times the price.

the limited edition will be the one to go for, if at all.

Oops

Seiko's “Grammar of Design” boiled down to four basic tenets... Finally, all cases must be unique, with no more generic round case designs.

back to square 1

This Lagonda is still my favorite vintage dress watch. Cheap (bougth my first Lagonda for around €50 ten years ago, it's the one in the pic actually!), nice texure on dial, fonts to die for ❤. I guess that's why I once owned 4 pieces of this beautiful watch. I sold one to a friend but bought another one. So now i own 4 again! :)

The Sumo was the very first mechanical watch I bought, but the 20 mm lugs and large case size drove me crazy. I ended up getting a Shogun to replace it a year later.

What is the SF poor mans choice of dress watch?

I have been looking for a reasonable priced, time only, hand wound watch but have not found a good option. Any suggestions are most welcome!

you're probably looking at one of the Orient bambinos, although most of them are with date

https://www.orientwatchusa.com/collections/contemporary-classic

although, me personally, i don't like them as they are too bland and uninteresting

Orient TriStar might be a more interesting proposition but they are less dressy and the newer models are not as good as the classics of the goode olde times nor are they as cheep as they used to be, and they are day-date too

I prefer watches with data, but just to give you some ideas of where to look.

Also Timex Marlin could be a good option
