Very nice KS!

I went with a vintage Seiko today too - the 6117-6010 “Worldtimer”.

I wanted one of these for the longest time and finally found one at a fair price in great shape only to finally get it and realize my eyes are now way too shot to actually use the world time rotating bezel without my glasses on and being in full sunlight. 😅

Still a great looking watch though and I’m happy to have it.

Interesting watch.
I had an IWC Yacht Club World Timer and got rid of it. The mechanism was fascinating as the outer ring rotated once every twenty four hours. The problem was it was the size of a hockey pick and after the novelty wore off I realized I didn’t give a **** what time it was in Bangkok or Abu Dhabi or wherever. I still think a GMT feature is one of my favourite complications beyond H/M/S but I have a rotating 1 to 12 bezel on my Heuer Autavia which works great when I’m travelling across time zones.

Anyone have any experience with Stowa? I'm looking at their titanium flieger GMT. Apparently titanium watches are quite difficult to find < $2k.

I had a Marine Original and now have the 36mm version. If you like the design, Stowa makes a very nice watch with a quality movement. Check the wait times, though, as they seem to have crept up lately.

Over the years, a GMT feature has become my favorite complication. I don't know why other than that I just like the extra hand and the fact that the GMT hand is usually a contrasting color and I think it adds some visual interest to a watch face. I used to travel a ton in the Marine Corps and then also when I first started my government job and would have probably really appreciated a GMT function but never actually owned one back then (unless you count a G-Shock with extra time zones). These days, I haven't been outside of the Eastern time zone since 2018 or 2019 so I really have no other use for it but I still love it.

Speaking of GMT watches... this Smiths "Traveler" just arrived today.

This is the third or fourth Smiths I've owned over the years and I always think they're a pretty good value and usually have great quality finishing and this one is no exception. The big problem with Smiths/Timefactors is that they only open up ordering once or twice a month, and there are usually only a few pieces of a few models available at any given time so it can be a little frustrating trying to remember to log onto the site (usually early on a Sunday morning here in the Eastern time zone) and hoping that the model that you want is one that there are a bunch of that day or that you connection is fast enough...

Good day, everyone!

Yes, another Pagani and another homage, but this one I couldn’t resist since it has the new Seiko NH34 GMT movement, the same one used in the new Seiko 5 SKX Sports Style GMT Series. However, this costs A LOT less than those. Sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, and a RELIABLE functional automatic GMT movement for a little over 100 USD? Count me in! 😊

Honestly, not a fan of homage watches, as they want to appear like other ones and don't have own aesthetics. I can understand though the desire to wear something that resembles unequivocally a certain piece and costs a fraction of it.

Talking of homages, Gigandet is a German brand (it was a Swiss one disappeared with the success of the quartz in the 70s, recently bought and revived) specialized, just like Pagani Design, in replicating the watches of a certain renowned brand.

The most of their production is uninteresting for me, but this Evermatic with champagne dial has undoubtedly its appeal.

Powered by the automatic movement Ronda R150, with a price tag of €580 it's rather interesting.

I agree that a GMT is the best complication. For those in military or technology with jobs they run in UTC, the GMT is essential. I still prefer a traveler GMT over an office GMT, though. The discontinued Orient Star Seeker is terrific

There was some discussion previously about Lorier. I received an email that they are restocking the Hyperion GMT, both the model with the black face and gilt hands, as well as the white face and white hands. Price is $599, shipment in 1-3 days. A nice looking poor man's GMT in my opinion.

I just pre-ordered this Yema Urban Traveller.

I also have been considering the blue and the salmon dial, but ultimately opted for this classic silvery one.
