I like plain, classic watches. But so far, thanks to familial prejudices - my partner's father was a Swiss watchmaker - I've only ever had Swiss made watches. I don't want to ask his advice because he doesn't look past Swiss watches - but I've seen this vintage piece and it's beautiful.

Is there any concerns to have over a Russian-made Sekonda?

If It keeps time and you like it, there's zero problem, my other half swears by her Sekonda and I noticed Bill Gates wears the Casio Duro the other day 👍

Bought this on an impulse buy-a quartz from a smaller French outfit called Yema.

It seemed cool and appears to meet my needs. View attachment 1665667

A couple of questions though and this might sound ignorant. But how do I make a chain link watch tighter on my wrist? Since it's quartz do I need to do anything to get it up and running etc?
I have the automatic version. Why a great watch!

The Omega is a great looking watch, I would give it a year and look at the price of the Prospex again, quite often they sell at 50% off at places like watchnation
Also keep an eye on smaller jewellery / watch stores.
There are 2 shops near me that often have a 30% off on Seiko's and G-shocks.
Getting a Presage at 30% off is a great deal.

"Fauxlex" somebody gave me when they moved up to a proper watch, truly horrible movement and bracelet, I put it on the zuludiver strap to wear as a beater watch

LARGE METAL WATCHES WITH TAILORING

  • Yes, I’m tacky like that.

  • No way José! Dress watch with leather strap for me!

  • No watch at all.
