to me Sellita and ETA lower movements are the same. that's my 2 cents.Sorry, late reply here.
Really, you have qualms about Sellita? I regard them the same as ETA movements (they essentially ARE the same exact thing) and Sellitas can be found in watches much more expensive than the Oris.
If the Oris had an ETA 2824, would you have the same hesitation?
that's a vintage special thereI am considering purchasing this Rado watch. It has a leather strap instead of what I assume was a metal band.
Thoughts? Opinions?

Sadly, I think I'm going to flip this one. I love everything about it, but it just wears too small on me for my taste.
Interesting. This is the first I've heard of Sellita reliability complaints. If true, I'd like to know more. Occasionally there are "elitists" who snub their nose at Sellita, but from what I've garnered, fair-minded experts and aficionados say such snubbing is entirely unwarranted, and ETA and Sellita should be held in the same regard. If anything, I've read many accounts that Sellitas tend to be more accurate than their ETA counterparts. My latest watch, a Sinn 856, has a Sellita and so far is proving to be my most accurate watch by far (about +1 second per day so far.) Although the Sinn 856 has one of the better Sellita movements (top grade SW300), and accuracy and reliability are of course different things.
You make a fair point about the price.
loving the classic style of your Orient green
Talking of bang for the buck... this quartz (which I have been tracking over all sales fora for years) just came on eBay just outside PMW range:
I wonder how much more they will appreciate before I can finally get my hands on one... and why Seiko no longer produces anything like it!
Still no trace of the newer SARB059 anywhere.
